Please join us for a buffet lunch to mark the International Launch of GETTING ON THE MAP, an advocacy programme on behalf of English Street Arts and Outdoor Performance.
The years leading up to the 2012 London Olympics will see unprecedented interest in Street Arts in England and the rest of the United Kingdom. Though there will of course be opportunities for international companies to perform in the UK, the main focus will be on developing our own Street Arts. The quality and diversity of English Street Arts is improving all the time. As well as some old favourites who are already well known around the world, a new generation of companies is doing exciting things in the fields of street theatre, street dance, site specific performances and installations, multi media projects and so on. We would like to help you to get to know these companies.
GETTING ON THE MAP is organised by Event International with support from Arts Council England. We hope you can join us to hear a few words from Barbara Matthews, Director of Strategy at Arts Council England, to meet with several representatives of English companies and most important of all to enjoy an informal lunch in cool and convivial surroundings.
